A quick update that I should have put here rather than on the general chat thread. Forgive the repetition but I've had a pair of 5th Gen kickplates fitted, a swanky new Kenwood stereo and the HID light fittings were removed as I didn't think they made any difference whatsoever. Next jobs scheduled are to start work on the engine bay with (amongst others) a red crackle finish on the rocker cover. Watch this space...

Apologies for the self-indulgence but as yesterday was such a lovely day in my neck of the woods, I spent about four hours giving her a thorough wash and wax. I'm dead chuffed with how she scrubbed up so well. (and yes, I should be sponsored by Meguiar's)
Five will get you ten it'll bloody rain tomorrow...

Thanks, Iain. What made the effort all worthwhile was a neighbour further down my road - known as somewhat of a prickly character - walking over to say how much he liked the Prelude and even striking up a conversation about classic cars in general. :)

Say goodbye to this gloomy looking engine bay. She's in the garage today for a bit of fettling. I've asked for the rocker cover to be painted in the crackle red finish, new red plug leads and a new set of NGK plugs fitted. (Basically, I'm attempting to recreate the look of the bay that I had on my car in Malaysia). That exhaust cover is driving me nuts, so that is on the list for a cosmetic upgrade but that's for another time.
They're also fitting two new speakers on the rear parcel shelf as I can hear they're definitely on the way out, as well as attending to some minor welding on the rear of the sill on the passenger's side. It's a two day job, so I'm sans wheels till tomorrow evening.

Oooh I think the black rocker cover finish looks really good tbh - but you go with what you like.
And actually, I'm surprised it isn't red top anyway, given it's a JDM H22A rather than a UKDM H22A2? :?

If the manifold cover isn't rusty, just 'tarnished' (that's how it looks?) it would probably polish up nicely without needing to be re-finished? It's mild steel, but plated with nickel (or something) from factory. If it can be polished, that would look better than painting.
