Hi,

Appreciate opinions on whether to wrap the manifold. I've heard that it could have an adverse effect, as opposed to improving potential horse power!

Cheers

It depends on the quality of the manifold.

I have wrapped numerous manifolds and have had no problems, but I've seen a few cheap ebay manifolds crack due to the extra head that's kept in the exhaust

Thanks,

It's a Private Label s/s, so should be better than average.

I personally will never wrap again. I used expensive wrap and did a good job and it shredded, went crispy and is fraying away.

Next time I'll get a zircotec heat coat.

Did you spray it with the high temp silicon spray as if you do it lasts, I had it on a turbo s14 which temps get very hot and it looked good even after 4 years and plenty of abuse

Zircotec heat wrap sounds expensive!

I used Thermotec black heatwrap along with its hi heat spray.

Crap. Yes it works but it's doesn't last.

I've got the black Thermotec stuff. It's lasting, but it's now white!

Zircotec is about £400 for the best coating inside and out.
