Hi guys,
I bought this one - found by using the part number on the old one;
1A1364 ALTERNATOR For HONDA Accord Aerodeck Coupe IV 2.0 2.2 70 AMP
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266259767555
Apparently the Accord share the same one as the Pre-Facelift 2.3i H23A.
I hope this helps others too.
Thanks
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

4th Gen - 2.3i Battery Charging Issue
Hey guys, New update and and its now FIXED. After changing the locks, including ignition, I revisited the charging issue using Scott560 advise and the Honda manual, I was still so confused as nothing would make sense. So I ordered a new reconditioned alternator with the same part number as the old o...

Wanted: 4th Gen 2.3i UKDM Alternator
Hi guys,
I’m after an alternator for a 4th Gen UKDM Alternator.
If possible, a tested one would be great. If you have one, please let me know.
Thanks

4th Gen - 2.3i Battery Charging Issue
Hey guys,
Sorry I haven't posted an update on this since but the lady who owns the car has lost the keys and the car is now stuck in a garage. Once I get the locks change etc, I'll be starting work on this car again.
Cheers

4th Gen - 2.3i Battery Charging Issue
It could well be the main battery cable from the alternator to the battery. Check that it hasn't got brittle and corroded. Not seen it on a honda, but have seen it on others. If you have a multi-meter, check for +14v on the metal post on the alternator (mindful not to lose your multi-meter leads in...

4th Gen - 2.3i Battery Charging Issue *** Fixed ***
Hi guys, Got a bit of a stange one. I’m helping this lady who owns a 4th Gen 1993 UK 2.3i. The battery kept dying, I then thought it could only be the alternator. I replaced it with a known working one (same part number etc and from a UKDM one as I know I’ve had issues previously with import and UK ...

3rd Gen - Starting Issue & Backfire
I've never once had a prelude hunt at idle, the closest thing to a hunting idle in my experience was when the new timing belt was a tooth out but this was sorted by the garage doing the work at the time. Also if the idle control valve needs cleaning it can cause cold running issues but should still...

Before just changing the cap (which almost certainly is worth doing) have you checked you do actually still have spark? Check that first to rule it out, so you know your 'starting point' for the fault. One other possibility that does match the symptoms, is the timing jumped - but that's pretty dras...

I would replace the fuel filter if you have not done that already and check ignition system eggy smell is normally cat related linked to timing being out and fuel getting dumped into exhaust - see if you can hear any rattling sound from the cat when you give it a shake. Old fuel can smell pretty na...
