Prelude Remapped chips-JDM Spoon V2 Auto/Manual+UKDM+Chrome+

I had a look at my spare 5th gen ECU, and the 'CPU' has both the RAM and ROM , so its unlikely to be easy to use any existing tools or similar to try and change the map - hence why everyone retrofits the older ECU i'm guessing (which has the separate rom chip and tools to adjust).

The problem is the engines are not in great supply. Ive seen them on ebay for quite a high premium. What anyone would pay is up to them, but id hazard a guess it is not that much more expensive to buy the engine with the car already attached. That way the engine can be tested and delivered more easi...

i think its normal to find a very tiny bit of debris or grit in there (hence the screen to catch it), but bigger chunks means engine is starting to chew itself apart , i wouldn't waste any more time on it. If the car is rusting out at the arches, save your time and hassle, get a different prelude be...

Best 205/50/R16 tyres

I can also recommend the uniroyal rainsport 3s , they were the last set fitted to my 16s before the federals, plenty of grip wet and dry, and quite soft so didn't last all that long...

Best 205/50/R16 tyres

i did some research for the motegi 17s (not put them on yet), and the michelin pilot sport 4 came out on top - i imagine they are available in 16. and yes, semi slicks are a waste on the road - they are harder, wont get warm or sticky (so no grip benefit), and are worse in the rain additionally to t...

Nah the flickering oil pressure light is the main oil pressure sensor in the block, before you get to the VTEC sensing oil pressure switch in the head. If the main oil pressure light is flickering, then you have no chance of VTEC, and your engine (or oil pump) is already shot. The workshop manual (f...

work done = happy chap

So I don't tend to do much to my cars other than look after them, replace bits that break/leak, and any simple bolt on bits to make life better for the odd track day. I had planned on doing as much of the belwo work as possible, but work and family commitments (plus the lack of an enlarged driveway)...

Rich @ PAW - Top chap!

An absolute delight to deal with from start to finish. Unlike some other specialist honda garages who are much closer, Rich actually got back to me, and was only too happy to oblige. Started off with an email about checking over a cheaply purchased ATR gearbox - ended up enquiring about a fair chunk...

ABS sensor repair

Have you got a picture of the sensor as it stands? or one from the other side? Trouble is with a lot of online parts , generic images are used... I suspect the sensor itself is the same as many hondas from that era, find a few cheap ones on ebay and have a look - I've got some spare 5th gen rear one...

Oil light flickering at idle is a classic sign it's buggered.

The oil pump is either gone, or bearings worn out so bleeding out all your pressure. Any repair is likely to be more than buying either a known engine or probably just buy another prelude...

Either way new engine time...
