Confused, no compression
Are you sure its oil? If you sprayed a lot of carb cleaner into the intake, the dislodged carbon/cleaner mix would look like oil. The valve guides don't really control the oil, the tops of the valves stems are only lubricated by the odd splash of oil (which sort of sits in the top of the seal). It's...

Valves can get sticky/stuck in the guides, especially if there is a history of carbon build up from the leaking seals. You can try to break the stickiness of the valves by tapping them with a hammer and drift. NOT bearing on the retainer, but bearing on the valve stem itself with a drift, give them ...

Confused, no compression
It'll sound clattery, but just loosen them way off and get it to fire. Once it's ran for a bit and compression is back, you can then let the car cool completely overnight and then do the clearances. I wrote a long post ages ago about the written service manual method (and how I didn't like it). It a...

Is there a little history to the car? is this a project you bought with broken belt, or is it your car and you drove it and it all works but just the belt snapped? Seems odd that the dizzy would die during the work. I cant see how timing could go wrong, the lower sprocket is keyed to the crank with ...

Reconditioned Front Brake Caliper
how did the refurb go? I noticed my ATR callipers, the lip that holds the dust seal in place is fairly corroded which would make a refurb borderline unfeasible.

Unusual 5G Boot Leak
My friend has an old 7th gen civic (breadvan type), and the seam sealer has cracked/gone porous on the roof joins, and the effects are pretty bad. I would try to seal it up once we have had some dry weather (so as to ensure you are not trapping moisture in where possible), and take some preventative...

I have found that previously if the starter motor gets stuck on / doesn't disengage, it can play funny buggers with the voltage and make the car throw a few codes. If disconnecting the battery for an hour and a bit of driving doesn't clear any of the codes then it could well be true (whether caused ...

I think that's just how Autotrader looks up the BHP and puts it in the description based on the model name/type. As ratty says it would have been a B16 (B16A I think?). Later CRX del sol also came in VTi spec level and was B16 engine of some type (perhaps A1 or A2, cant remember).
