I use the one you've linked to, it makes getting the filter off very easy. No idea if it will fit a vw golf though. I bought one that fits my other motor as well. I've used other types and they have always been more hassle than they are worth.

Hot idle oil pressure on mine is just over 1 bar,about 15PSI. So 10-12PSI sounds fair enough for a warning. Oil temp, the hottest I've seen it at is 95C-97C range.
