Simon C's 1995 4th Gen

Good morning, Iain. Here's the VIN plate of M334 SWP and hadn't noticed the 'ENG' stamp before. My Malaysian Prelude didn't have a red-top originally either, that was another tweak of mine. My mistake, I'm talking crap apparently - red top was only on the Type S and Euro-R versions that were badged...

Simon C's 1995 4th Gen

Oooh I think the black rocker cover finish looks really good tbh - but you go with what you like. And actually, I'm surprised it isn't red top anyway, given it's a JDM H22A rather than a UKDM H22A2? :? If the manifold cover isn't rusty, just 'tarnished' (that's how it looks?) it would probably polis...

Where to get a catalytic converter? (5g 2.2VTI)

Second hand oem would be better for sure - the oem cats are always the best quality - but I've fitted a cat/pipe system made by BM Catalysts (who supplies the ones through where Drax linked) to my C5 and it was good quality. Fitted up perfectly and it's lasting well so far. So another recommendation...

Sooty residue in the exhaust

Healthy H22's do put out pretty sooty deposits, so it sounds normal to me. If you pass genuine emissions test at MOT, then the mixture is just fine.

Hardly an inspiring range, is it?

No you're dead right - although the Civic is really decent and the Jazz is still great (not sure why the Jazz isn't in that brochure???). But yep, the 'e' was the only really cool and interesting car they've produced for a good while now (excluding the CTR). It's such a far cry from their 90's range...

Little gathering at dynodays one Saturday?

It might be interesting to see what the Euro R produces. It's almost certain to be slightly disappointing, but I might learn something. The website doesn't say a lot about the process itself. I'm guessing that it's simply measurement and any skilled tweaking would be extra. Yep, no tuning involved,...

4g Breaking

Couple of tiny random things if you have them, please. On the rad, all the clip-in nuts that the rad fans bolt onto. Both side lights, including the tiny screws that hold them into the top of the headlights. Hagland-BB4 I wonder if you've had a chance to look at these yet please? Thanks Also Vtecme...
