yea it hasnt got any codes on the ecu when i was last plugged in,

sounds like your lude just needs a coupla days with someone who knows ludes well - Bri is my nearby lude god if I have any questions ;)

Ive had mine about 3 years and can't get enough of it still!! had to replace two dizzy's, repair the main relay once, had a split coolant hose once, a few small oil leaks, sticky rear calipars, but that's about it.

got a weird occasional tapping noise from the top end at the mo :? had the rocker off twice to check everything but can't see anything - maybe need cam shaft seals/rubbers replacing... but ill get it sorted :)

I had a tapping noise last year. Went to Rich at PAW, turned out my water pump was about to fail, causing slack in the timing belt so the belt was slapping on the cover. Noise came and went, so sounds similar to yours.

yea that makes sense, hant done it fora few days now, it shouldnt bethe water pump as i replaced it after the auto tensioner failed. :cry:

got it, water pump to be checked stat!

the noise is defo coming from under rocker cover for sure, but at the top end - could still be the water pump?

The noise wasn't the water pump, it was the belt slapping on the cover when it went slack.

The bearings in the pump were shot so it would move and loosen tension on the belt.

I suppose it could be caused by anything that would allow the belt to lose tension, not just the water pump.

Well ive had a bit of a result, just come home in the lude, and i thrashed the hell out of it, all the way, seems to have cured a few of the problems, runs better, sounds better, maybe ill be a bit more liberal with the throttle everytime i drive it :D

Have you checked the condition of the air filter?

Could possibly explain the hesitation, maybe also the running rich.
