Most things can be put on a scale or split into sub-conditions, mental health is complex.Danni22 wrote:I've had to go for a mental review through my solicetors who have labeled me with it, apparently it's only mild BUT PTSD is PTSD I'm sure you carnt put it on a scale..
TBH I would be more concerned about your solicitors sending you for a mental review and saying you have PTSD, of course they're going to make it sound worse than it is... they want to win your case. I imagine there are a group of doctors that will sell their services to law professionals, must be a fair bit of money in it with all the accident claim companies these days.
Medical professionals should be the only people to do this IMO, see an independent/NHS psychiatrist.

That's a good point.. Apparently due to the severity of the incident iv got to be sent for one and I'm ment to be seeing a doctor next week on base for a separate one as I handle weapons most days..
Never in a million years did I think it would turn out like this..
Surgery on my shoulder 6-8month recovery and then ill still be in the very high category of dislocating again hence I could get a medical discharge from a job I don't wont to leave yet..
Dose anyone no of I do get a discharge that's technically 9yrs of my guaranteed wages gone also my qualifications as a plasterer gone would the payout reflect this?

Your qualifications as a plasterer wont go anywhere. You just wont be able to plaster.
I very much doubt you're going to get compensation for this 9 years of wages thing you mention. You can still work. I assume you're meant to be in the armed forces for another 9 years then? Nothing is guaranteed really is it because you could be discharged, have an accident, quit, change your career path at any point.
I could potentially scaffold for another 40 odd years. If I fall off a scaffold and can't work then I wont lose my qualifactions and be getting a pay out for the next 40 years of work.

hi danni22
i understand totaly ur situation. i was in a RTA 26 march2007 and only now this month in march 2013 is it all dealt with. i won in the end but it was a long journay. countless medicals and frustration. i would first get to a personal claim solicitor .document every thing. im in bristol my solicitor was exellent patterson & brewer solicitor. it also affected what i used to do in work and trained with them for a new skill. my futures now bright again. at times it was all dark. stay in there and keep positive. some of the doctors you will deal with can b a bit awkward but most are good people . and yes important to check ur head injury mine ( smashed cheekbone ,eye socket, jaw, fractured skull , smashed hip, pelvis, tibia, fibia.femer right arm smashed 4 places bone craft needed. all on the right side of body) i knew it wasnt my fault and all i seeked was justice . it wont b over quick it can take years. it took me 6 years
stay strong and lude on
