My favourite shape Scoob..
A good friend of mine had one, his advice = avoid anything with 100k+ on the clock that hasn't already had its big end bearings changed because they will be falling to bits very shortly.

Great cars, personally I find the a bit soulless and don't have a personality. They can get a bit boring.

pretty sure it was a v3 sti that i drove about 6 months ago when my pal out in Livingston bought one - very stable and secure and heavy comapred to the lude - with the 4w drive it did feel very planted - but it was a bit souless- thats what i felt and obviously so did my pal as he sold it about 6 months later after he got it but not before having splashed a lot of cash getting it repaired - changing the clutch was a nightmare job apparently and gearbox needed attention. So he spent about £600 - £700 to get the car ready to sell - think he got about £1000 for it
not trying to put you off ;)
get a 4th gen - they are a joy to work on (most of the time) and more enjoyable to drive even if they are slower than sccoby 8-)

Don't forget a rank interior from an early 90's Nissan Micra too
