Ok, seeing how we've started talking about belts here, I may as well jack this thread & ask one of my upcoming questions now.
It is kind of relevant..For my approaching H22 conversion, I will be needing to get;
Timing belt kit
Water pump
Cam seals
Crank seal
Aluminium crank pulley
Other belts
Rocker cover gasket
I have decided I will be getting this Kaizenspeed Manual Tensioner & Balance Shaft Eliminator Kit as well.
Am I to assume that with this kit, I will only need to add a timing belt? Gates, for example.
Have also been looking at this Power Enterprise Super Kevlar II Timing Belt, but it's rather pricey. Probably pretty awesome though.
So my questions are;
1. Regarding the Balance Shaft Eliminator Kit, do I need the 'Idler Pulley Stud Spacer', as it is an optional extra?
2. Bearing in mind that this will be eliminated, do Gates (or similar) do a complete belt set for what I require?
3. Does anybody know the best price for these belts + a quality water pump (at least OEM quality)? Links?
4. And finally, is there anything else that should be replaced while all this is apart? Bearings or something?
