I have a few outside and above the garage, nice and bright.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

I just bought this at sainsburys for £6.99

Runs on 4 AA batteries, only time will tell how long for
Seems bright enough though, plus it's magnetic.

I got a generic small mag lite style one too for investigating hard to reach parts of the car.
Now I just need a head torch again and I'm sorted - the bloody dog ate the last one.

Seriously though, watching this thread with interest as I need a good portable work light for use in the back yard.

I have a couple of rechargable inspection lights bought from Lidl at £9.99. They come up all the time. Nice and bright and last for ages. Has helped me work on the lude on some long nights seeing as I don't have power in my garage. It can be hung or has some magnets on the back - depending on the angle you stick it sometimes it moves, so these could be better.
It's basically this one but for £9.99:

Need to look into something a little more substantial to light the area generally though. I've just bought a 240V worklight to use when I reel out my long-@ss extension lead, but those posted on the first page look pretty good.
Head torches are great when working in the engine bay though, your head always gets in the way of the light. I'd get an array of stuff personally.
