That was feckin brilliant, for your first time out I think you did well and you wer passing stuff aswell :) and in second race your confidence was better you were later on the brakes and fighting people
Apart from that missed gear change early in the first race you very clean and consistent, I think had it been an endurance race you might have won the thing :D with all the guys in their fancy kit cars and track toys spinnin out

Keep the videos coming mate :D
Wasnt my first time out ever as I've been racing a few years but was my first time out competatively in this car

Only ever been used to less than 100 BHP before this car and with removing the power steering and never raced on slicks before I was going into the unknown

Needs new shocks on, lowering a bit ideally but will have to fit wider arches and chop away from arches

Engine is standard mis match of H22a bottom end and sec hand ATR top end which made 212 BHP

I'm not planning on spending fortunes on running gear just want it reliable so will work on handling and brakes first

What does she weigh with you in it?
around 1200kg with me and a full tank of fuel
Is that a guess or an official weight? That is quite light for a Lude with a cage, especially a 5th gen. My car (with me in it) ballast free is 1217Kg with 5ish liters of fuel.

Edit - Mind you I have door bars etc... on my cage which must push the weight up.
It was roughly 1275kg with nearly empty tank when i first got it and I've taken quite a bit of weight out incl fitting poly side windows.

I couldnt get a correct reading on scales at Mallory so will possibly check at Anglesey if scales are available
Yeah that will be where you are making the weight up over my car, the poly windows. The doors a fooking heavy with all the motors and glass.

You'll get better lap times from suspension and brakes than you will from developing the engine a tiny bit that is for sure, cheaper too :D

The car sounds great!

Have you thought of entering the VTEC Challenge? You'd be in the thick of the
action there :-)

I'll be looking at possibly doing VTEC or Pre 2003 next year but CNC heads is mainly North West based so keeps costs down.

If i can get some sponsors for next year who want to come on board then I could afford to do other series

Yeah well thats the plan

Has big BTCC/WTCC spec brakes up front but only running DS2500 at the moment whilst I get used to them.

Will try DS3000 later this season or Mintex if not to expensive

I recommend the Carbotech XP8's. They were recommended to me and they have stood up to the abuse I have thrown at them. I have KSport 8 pot 330mm's.

What was the slicks like to use? how long did it take to get heat in them?

I have a set of ex-Clio cup full slicks sitting here that I have never used. I was waiting on getting my cage fitted before venturing out on them.
