the aim is to enjoy her for a good few years, and when it comes close to handing her over to my son i will get hold of a h22a2 fully strip it down and rebuild that engine to go back in so she will be semi standard again or shud i say original

Pushing for 300hp?

As said that will be expensive! IMO there is nothing in your current engine that can be used to get up to that level of power.

The short block will need new rods and pistons, balance shaft delete would be good as well.

The head will need all new valve train (cams, springs, retainers), extensive head work (valve jobs, P&P).

You'll most likely need to move to a K20 intake manifold with H22 adapter, big throttle body (70mm+), bigger than 450cc injectors.

An enhanced ignition system? MSD coil pack?

Big exhaust manifold & custom exhaust system (3"?)

More cooling, oil & water

Gearbox work or all that power will be wasted, deffo a good LSD (Torsen for road use). Plus paddle clutch and flywheel.

£10K+ easily!

My ~270hp engine has had most of the above done. Plus a gearbox that can take the abuse (4.64 final drive, carbon synchro's, Kaaz clutch pack LSD).
