Compared to the Golf, my lude is the fuel efficient option

I think I would have to buy something a bit more fuel efficient if I needed to travel any farther (for the sake of my wallet), and then use the Lude as a weekend car.

Yup thats the way I did it for the last 3 years, a cheapo diesel. After running both cars the cheapo diesel payed for itself in fuel savings alone. I still used the Lude for work, just not every day. And come winter having a shitter to drive through the snow instead of the Lude was a bonus

I had a chance to buy a mint Mk2 Golf TDI for £750 a while back, didn't quite have enough money though absolutely gutted I missed out because there's only 60 odd left in the country, and it would've been a mix of both retro coolness and practicality, the holy grail

mine covers atleast 200-250 miles a week as my DD, and has no problems...except for when driving into people! but even then, its still bulletproof! As much as I would like to also keep the milage down, when I compare having low milage to having a Fooking awesome driving experience everyday its an easy winner! Fuel isnt really an issue anymore I can fill up for 40 pound of superplus 98
