I had some insurance on my loan, was talked into it, but knew about it, never claimed on it, when I was made redundant, they said I could use that as a reason not to pay back instalments.
I used my redundancy to get rid of my loan as I just wanted rid of the £200 per month round my neck
Not sure if it's worth me claiming, prob over the time limit too

LOL, no you are much better off, I now have no loans or credit cards, I'm skint but i don't have to pay out £200 + a month for the privilege
I have only ever had small loans for cars, we just didnt have the money when I was young for my folks to pay for driving lessons etc and a car (not that I'd expect it TBH), so I got a small loan. Topped it up a few years later when I bought the lude, then again when I bought the Mustang.
I was 'sensible' with my loans and always made sure I could afford them, but all that said I would MUCH rather have not had them altogether. The feeling after the last payment some years back was

Apart from my mortgage, I'm debt free and have been for a few years and it's a great feeling.
