well ive had five preludes in the last 10 years first being a gen 3 retro cool unfortunatly was stolen after 2 weeks of owning it
second being gen4 bb4 excellent as for being lightweight total rubbish wieghs the same as a bb1
third being a bb1 and fourth being another bb1
and my current lude gen5
as for driveability between them i have to say the gen 4 is better to drive and quicker i felt the steering on a 4th gen was more sure of its self but i think that's due to the power steering being controlled by the speed sensor
as for looks i can say 4th gen lowered in a nice set of rims just look very nice and pleasing to the eye same goes for the 5th gens but just something bout the them makes me feel hmmm summat is missing
if i rate them on all round capability id have to say 4th gen is best

I'm normally an outspoken sod but sometimes I appear to sit on the fence, and this is probably one of those times.
The best one is the best for YOU, not what anyone else says. I LOVE my 4th, I LIKE 5ths (and plenty of other cars actually).
With a little tweaking (or a lot) any lude can do what you want it to do, and for that I like them all.
I also like the fact they are a thoroughbred - the Prelude has always been a Prelude, from the ground up, not a shell stuck on another car (I swear 90% of the cars on the road are a Golf underneath it all...
)
It's always been a showcase for new tech, such as 4WS etc.
I'd own a 3rd gen, I'd probably own a 5th gen, but the 4th is the only one that's really under my skin.
