should I be taking money out my account?

or do you mean HSBC shares?

I heard about HSBC stopping customers taking large amounts out of there bank accounts

bit worrying as I've been saving fair bit of money in my account

3000£ is not a 'large' amount in my book mate. And you need to take in a signed letter to show what you intend to do with the cash they give you.......what???? the bank want to know what you want to do with the money once they give it to you????????
If I were you I would take all your available currency out asap. as soon as this hits the mainstream media you will be at the back of a long line. They are doing this to stop a run on the bank but its a stopgap measure. HSBC are drokked.

They are over their overdraft limit in real terms by $80,000,000,000. lol. Seriously. RBS was chicken feed. Who wants to bank with a bank that got caught money laundering for drug cartels? The cartels take their money, a few conservative investors take their funds out and hey presto, drokked. No one wants to give money to a bank that gets caught.......... especially if you have any real idea how it works. They are going to get a bailout and we save it up for another couple of years or it falls and our world changes a little bit for the better.

Hills, run.
