yes please but it strikes me that it is over ten years old and i need a replacement. I am pretty sure my current can still do service as a back up but the battery is gone and its defo time to retire it from front line service.

I highly recommend the Dell Latitude D430 - second hand they are around £100 ish depending on condition

Get the U7700 processor
Its a 1.3Ghz dual core processor with 2GB ram.
More than enough for daily tasks
Portable and lightweight too.
Was a very expensive machine when it came out and was designed for the business user

I have one which I use for basic browsing around the home when not in the office

Hope it helps

Those Lenovo's are excellent for the price. If it was me, I would swap the drive for a budget SSD and you would have a machine that operates FAR faster than most laptops under £1000.

Something like this would give a fair amount of space and a massive speed boost:

Could probably find plenty of used ones as well but don't get any that are too old as they will be much slower and degrade faster as well.

Exactly what I did Stan. Hows the Used Ship business?

Times are tough, what with all the pirating around these parts, I'm thinking about selling the business and finding a quiet little place to settle down. Speaking of which, have you thought about retirement, or more specifically, what you will do after retirement? Perhaps a man of your exquisite taste could be tempted by one of these brand new designer coffins, I'll even throw in a box of nails for free... :D
