This is a downside I didn't foresee. An SD card camera sounds a lot more practical.

Oh well, it'll do until I sell up and move away.

Wasn't having a go man, for the money, what you bought has a pretty good image. What's the night mode like?

How about a panasonic dvd recorder with a 160gb hdd to do all of your recording. I have two which are almost useless now as they do not have freeview capability???

I know you weren't having a go Indigo. ;)
I am rather uneducated in technology. I don't even have a mobile phone. :o
I just bought one of the first cameras I found that sounded like it would do the job.

I've only just fitted it today. I'll find out what the night mode is like later. :-|

I would do yes. Just had a quick look on the spec for the camera you bought, doesn't seem to be any kind of video output (composite or otherwise) Would need to convert the usb to video somehow.

i bought 1 of these the other week for the garage http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230724005485? ... 1439.l2649
doesn't come with a hard drive but thats only another £28
runs 4 cameras 1 of which is a £15 ebay job to replace a broken 1 and its more than ok.
i can watch it at home on the pc or on my phone if i choose too also.
came in handy when a lorry hit my fathers car outside the garage last week too.

They are handy, if you do have an old pc though you can use: http://www.zoneminder.com/ for free. A cheapo card to record 4 cameras costs about £7 on ebay. Also, it'll handle feeds via the network 8-)

That's really good - though it does make the paint on your roof look terrible
