halfords sets are great when half price. you cant go wrong.

Halfords professional are made by one of the top tool companies and have a lifetime guarantee...usually perfect for most people.

However, im a Snap-On WHORE.

Hummmmm I wouldn't recommend Halfords.

Broke 3 rachets and many many adapters and rounded heads on the advanced professional range. Of course all swapped for free but does do the job until another breaks.

Snap on is overpriced but good.

Best tools...... Mac tools

Serious question here, how do you break a ratchet?

I have a Crescent set of tools from Costco and have used them for 5+ years on lots of jobs.

The internal bearing snaps very easily. Way below the rated torque too.

I got given a Brittool pro set that's pretty good, but most 'Pro' sets come with a lifetime guarantee.
So it's probably going to come down to wherever is convenient for you to take it back and get it exchanged once you've beaten the snot out of it..

If it were me, I would tend to go with the consensus here and hit Halfords up because;
1. They're all over the place
2. Their sales are normally pretty good
3. Their 'Pro' set is guaranteed so you have piece of mind when you're trying to smash a masonry nail into that blockwork wall using the 1/2" ratchet...

not fan of halfords either

bought a torque wrench, don't think it was very accurate

Was it the click type? I've had about 5 of various brands and never trusted them, I use a beam type now which seems much better.
