The blue one looks smart from the pics but like you say the ad doesn't let on too much. Best thing to do is probably drive it, prod it about and see what you think.
I checked my shocks btw, yellow ones up front with a beefy black ARB and torsion bars instead of springs. Up back its a live axle, two big black coil springs on it with 2 shocks. Was really struggling to see these ones as they're right under the car but I think they were either dirty & black or very dirty & yellow. Mine has 200k kilometres on the clock so they could well be replacements on the back though.
I think I missed your question about MPG, my commute is about 2 miles each way so I get awful fuel economy, I think it was 12-15MPG last time I checked
It does better on the motorway though, when the torque converter locks and overdrive kicks in then it sits at fairly low revs at 70. Even 80-90 is bearable.

Cheers.
Such a mine field
Its such a shame the 3.0l is just electronic and expensive. As I see from the net its a much better engine, just fragile in its nature. Like most things made today
25% better economy as well.
I will report. Its going to be a long day either way.

Mine (the 3.0) is amazing on fuel in town. I was putting £20-30 in the civic for a week to work and back. Approx 6 miles round trip a day. Get this, the trooper will do it on £10 of diesel.
I drokking love the mpg around town. Now the mpg on motorway is awful.

well, what a lovely chassis! Clean as a whistle!
Unfortunatly though, it had a number of leaks. rocker cover, maybe powersteering hardpipe, something under the oil level as it was dropping oil in a pool under it and finally the front gearbox prop mount was oily wet
Drove nice though.
I think I am onto other options now. @Thebusofwoe what needs to have been done to the 3.0l for it to be a reliable engine over 100k?
I want to test a few Toyota landcruisers. The amazon (for the laugh...4.2liter lol...) and the colorado... much better 3.0. I think for the budget I can call on thats whewre I should be looking? Or a newer surf?
Hmm. I kinda get the impression that toyota have sewn it up ad everyone else has been trying to keep up.
I think that for another 1500 ontop of a decent bighorn I can get a decent colorado.......maybe.
I will report. Thanks for all the advice

New, recent injectors and sleeve seals
That's the expensive common on the 3.0. Good luck chap. I kinda like the Toyota aswell.

LLL don't disregard it just because of a few oil leaks. They can be fixed easy cheap. Which one did you view as the two you linked up look good.
