Change clocks to match engine mileage.

Does the vin match the chassis code on the bulkhead?

Guys, my car does not say 'S Spec' on the VIN tag. But if I give my chassis number to Honda UK this is what comes up on their system which clearly details it as an S Spec...

Neither does this one here from Newera Imports which they sold to a race team in Japan who would know what they were buying, scroll down to page 25. http://www.neweraimports.com/Nebusis/pi ... White..pdf

The Type S does have it on the VIN plate, but the S Spec does not so that alone does not make this car not an S Spec. The gearbox and needles does seem odd though, and without those even if it began life as an S Spec it may have reverted back to being an SiR. Personally I think it was always an SiR it is too much of a dog to be an S Spec  but try the chassis with Honda UK tomorrow...

Vin plate and one on bulkhead match.

Did as @craig_85 said and contacted Honda to see what info they had. Its listed as a sir s-spec. Iain who is quite helpful did say that a lot of Jap imports aren't always as they seem when imported so its a bit of a lottery.

Don't really know what to make off it all as that's 100% not an LSD box so at the very least the box has been swapped either over here or before it was imported.

Question is which engine is it, is it still the s-spec engine that's 217bhp or has that been swapped as well for a 197bhp engine? Anyone know if there's a way to check?

I'm sure there is something stamped on the head (p13 or p5p etc etc) to confirm its the red top H22A compared to just a standard black top H22A..

Yer what's the head. Do a compression test to. These engines should be around 210-220 psi.

I know this can easily change but from factory the s spec and type s h22a engine have a red valve cover and the sir h22a has a black one.

Again I know it could be changed but measure the throttle body 62mm for true performance.
