Hi - I'm the proud new owner of Alex's pride and joy. It has been on SORN since Alex kindly delivered it for me, pending the sale of my awesome SAAB 9000 Aero. Well that's gone now, so the Prelude is taxed and being driven. Big smile. It will have a gentle life with me, twisty country roads, and the occasional motorway blast, but sadly no track days. I'm too old for that now! My other car is a SAAB 9-5 Aero Auto (Stage 1 Maptun tune), so the two cars are TOTALLY different in character. Even all the minor controls are reversed on each car. Some of the folk on the SAAB forum were a bit surprised at the replacement of my 9000 by a Prelude. The words tin and buzz box were aired. But the more intelligent SAABistas were aware of the handling qualities, and the splendid engine, and understood. Anyway, the Prelude will be treasured and not modified. It is perfect as it is, although I have removed and stored the original radio cassette unit, and replaced it with a Sony unit which plays MP3 CDs. I'm surprised also to discover that the 5G doesn't have a rear wiper - still, one less blade to buy.

I'm especially glad to be back in a 4WS car. Here's a link to some of the late LKJ Setrights's thoughts on this. He was a somewhat eccentric. but well regarded, motoring journalist, with Car Magazine and The Independent, whose personal car was always one or other types of Prelude. http://www.ferdinandmagazine.com/ljk-se ... eering-4ws

Awesome news that the Prelude is now on the road taxed and insured. Glad you managed to get the 9000 sold in the end.
Hope you got a decent amount for it.

I think that is a similar attitude you get towards Honda in general. People always seem to hate on Honda's but are blissfully unaware how good Honda cars really are.

Hope the stereo upgrade went well, its pretty easy to change with only the surround trim quite tricky to remove. Always fear of breaking those fragile clips.

Really glad all is well and the Prelude is being treasured. Hope it has been washed, its a lovely warm week this week :lol:

Article seemed to have been removed

Hi Damon - I think I'd rather keep it - the interior of this car is soo original I think if I ever sell it, I'd slip it back in, just to complete the picture. Sorry!

Hi Alex - Stereo upgrade a piece of cake, no clips broken, and by pure luck I had exactly the right loom adaptor in the garage.

Great news Geriatrix.

@Damon
For your info, the original stereo in the Prelude is a Pioneer KEH-P6500R.
You might be able to find them on ebay.
