i got a quote from admiral multicar when i got the prelude. wasn't very impressed. ended up cheaper just to insure it with the same company as my first car, adrian flux. they give you a little discount for the second car, and so it came to around £600 fully comp with all mods declared and 0 years NCB.

The best quote I had was through swift cover this time round.

I spoke to a broker before and you only get discount if you have owned the specific car or the same model of car for a period of time like a year or more.

I'm 26 with 5 years NCB and 3 points which expired at christmas, when I had my reneal round in October I struggled to get the price under a grand  which was £200 more than the year before.

Went to swift cover and got the price down to £600 in 60 seconds :D

Cheers guys,

I'll be giving Sky, Greenlight and Adrian Flux a ring tomorrow but I'm not getting my hopes up, will try Chris Knott too as they seem to have sorted a few people with modded Accords I know. Other than that I think we may just go with Admiral, will SORN the lude until we sort a credit card though as an extra £1,400 for direct debit is too much crap for one sitting  can you a SORN a car before you've got the logbook back?

I'm with them currently but well aware they're bum droppings  half the price of everyone else when I first started driving though, and seeing as I couldn't afford 4K insurance on one car I was a bit stuck!! Let's see how the others do I guess, if I can get it for 2K or less I'll be happy :P

Just filled out the online quote for greenlight, hoping they can sort me out :) just want to get the lude out tbh, but trying my best to be responsible and get as cheap a policy as possible before I move out

More worryingly, my dad has bought an engine crane so that I can finish my engine swap... Now I'm going to have to insure my Golf, an imported Prelude and an Accord with an engine conversion!! Arrggghhh :scaredtoss:
