you should seriously think about getting a smaller engine in a different car if your asking for more than 37mpg from an engine like the H22 in a car the weight of the lude.

If you dont use vtec the engine is wasted. if you got a 1.6 mx5 you would have more fun and get better mpg.

the most you should really expect from a tank, with a little fun or whats the point?, is 400 miles. any more than that and you might as well be in a 1.6 astra sport. imho...

Good plan but it takes some willpower. I have a Citroen that does 60+ mpg and I really have to work hard to walk past the lude in the mornings to drive the Citroen to work. Most of the time the Citroen loses

been close to a peugeot purchase a few times looking at the mpg...but then storage would be an issue and i would never use the lude...kinda defeats the purpose for me

LLL hit it on the head really... if you sit under 3k, never use VTEC and want high MPG... why have the Lude? If you're after better economy but still the same styling why not change for a 2.0? Probably get a bit better MPG.

The 2.0i will get the same MPG as the 2.2. Been there and done that and both get the same MPG below 5k.
