If the car is a write off what next?

Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

Be specific man!
Which one?

Guy beside me at a campsite last year had a simply stunning V70R - immaculate it was. Statred speaking to him while at the 'cleaning station' (for crockery) and he looked at me weird until I asked him about the 300bhp under his right foot and he then loosened up! Said its very rare that someone knew what he was driving as they are quite rare and understated

A V70 would be the one I'd likely suggest. The 5 pot diesel is pretty good fun - plus one of the few cars that looks better as an estate!

Yeah they're still making them as far as I'm aware, the new ones have a V6 VTEC engine!! I'm not so fond of the early 00' models though, they looked like bloated accords. The new ones look great though. The early 90's ones looked even better, I'd love one of the coupes

Lovedoctor, have you considered an Accord? For 4K you could probably lay your hands on an Accord Type-R, or if you wanted something a bit more sensible the 2.4 litre 7th Gen Accord comes very highly rated by the guys over on the Accord forums - I know they are a bit later than the turn of the millennium but they're good looking cars. Plus they're both petrol Honda's so you could put money on them being no trouble at all other than consumables over the years.

ATR is a four-door 'Lude. Very highly regarded by owners.
Legend has sh-awd which is veryheavy, but I'd love to try it!

I would love to run another Type-R and indeed my wife loved our EP3 - starting our family meant we had to move it on. Maybe if the right one came up it would be considered although there will be no isofix harnesses and its a saloon. Always wanted an ATR - bought the Prelude as my budget wouldn't stretch to a decent ATR last time. The later gens are ok. Again the saloon is just that little bit less flexible ;) . Is the 2.4 a good unit?
