Crank pulley - Common fault?

Nitin i will see if PAW have a spare crank pully lying around or if the one off my old engine is free. You can have that. FREE. but you pay postage bitch.

One of the belt is still held on the pulley with a bit of string.

That belt looks drokked, has it split in half?. A failed crank pulley shouldnt do that to the belt

The Pulley is wobbling so I know it's damaged. Will check it later on when I get home.

Power steering belt was snapped and I think that got stuck in the belt between the AC belt and made that chew it up (if that makes sense)

Something mad must have happened. I would have thought that since the belt went slack there wouldnt have been enough tension to spin anything. When it went did your battery warning light (and possibly CAT temp warning light) come on the dash?

There was no dash on light. There is no light for Power steering. And you can see in the picture that there is a little bit of belt left on the alternator that must have been enough to charge the battery light so that didn't come up on the dash as well.

Oh joy of owning a Type-S.

If the crank pulley did fail the battery light should have come on straight away as the alternator wouldnt be spinning due to no tension of the belt

Are you 100% sure the crank pulley is wobbly?

I wonder if the alternator belt split, half of it came off and got tangled in the PAS belt witch popped it off
