£550 with Admiral for me. But I don't have many mods. The suspension, zorst and strut are all declared.
28, 7 years no claims. Fully comp and protected NCB.

They were the cheapest last year but I always have to ring around each year.

Sounds OK then. I spoke to Chris Knott when I was looking last year and they couldn't get near the 3rd party, no mods, £600 from swift cover.

Cheeky buggers sent the renewal quote through, £950 for not making a claim or getting any points in the last 12 months and still 3rd party :o

After being with Admiral previously, and dealing with Swift cover for my claim last year, I'd avoid them both by a mile. Admiral actually quoted me less than £450 last week, but I renewed with CK for £490 due to their customer service and the fact they cover mods like for like. Sometimes it's better to pay the bit extra.

I don't know if this is something that many of you have realised, but I've been using this trick for years to save money on my insurance, and phone the last working day of the month, as they have targets to reach to earn bonus and will literally give cases away with discount, as long as they still earn money on it and get the case sold.

As for mods on car insurance, I can't really say, but I know that on motorbike insurance, there's not many modifications that actually increase the cost of the insurance.

It will be "service indemnity", not bad workmanship. Service indemnity covers the consequential injury or damage as a result of the service or upkeep of a vehicle, but the actual bad workmanship is specifically excluded
