Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

the car is sitting in a private used car lot at the minute, and TBH it doesnt seem to be attracting any interest

iv seen it advertised on the web and theres no mention of the cat d status in the advert :? i am thinking it maybe gets mentioned when folk turn up to see it dunno.

TBH am thinking of just ignoring it and wait and see how desperate he becomes to sell it and bid a grand as suggested....then break it for bits for the lude oh yeah

thanks guys

Yes, the price is too high.

Don't kid yourself. Point to point, if you're really trying, the ATR is quicker than any stock Lude. However, in normal conditions, the Lude is more fun.

There's a 10 mile country road I know well with 40mph and 60mph corners, hills up and down, and no straight longer than 3/4 mile. Our ATR beats our 5G with plenty of time-to-get-my-breath-back in hand. I still prefer driving the Lude on that road, though. Perhaps it's just the low seating position. Or maybe it's because it takes less effort to get the best out of it.

Any stock lude?. :o what about the S-Spec and Type-S? And I'm sure those light weight BB4's would be quicker too. 8-)

Plus you are comparing your H22A5 with heavy 4ws to your much newer ATR. Not fair sailor.

I prefer the ATR to the Lude (4G), not in looks (although the ATR is getting there), but to drive i find it a much better handling car.

A decent ATR with that mileage could command £3.5k, but a cat D seems a bit steep at £2k, plus there are the other downsides of insuring a Cat D car, such as you might only get TPO insurance, or if you get Comp, any total loss payout may be salvage value only (on the basis that a full total loss payment has already been made on the car).

I would agree with that but only because standard Lude suspension is rubbish aka "comfortable". Once you get a set of coilovers on a Lude laptimes are near identical, based on my experiences with the half dozen or so ATR's I have been on track with.

So by reasoning, a set of coilovers on an ATR will then make the ATR quicker than a Lude on coilovers

Only to level the playing field a bit. Prelude suspension is bouncy as hell (crap), you dont get that with an ATR.
