Sorry I was seeing it as having the shaft hanging out the diff.

Get that shaft off the outer and move it man.

If there's no resistance, it will turn the speed of the other cup anyway, due to oil drag in the diff.

Dunno what you're gnu do about the dangly shaft, missus.
