Still didn't get one but the new Nexus 7 is now on sale from Google. Undecided whether I actually need one or just want one.

BUT,

My iPhone has been a gentleman's sausage lately and the lock key is almost drokked and the home button doesn't work so I had to turn on Assistive Touch.

Anyway, Google cut it's prices on the Nexus 4 by 80 quid or so. Just bought a Nexus 4 for 159, sold my dodgy iPhone 4 to O2 recycle for 116. Basically just got a new phone (and at least an improvement over my current one) for 43 quid.

Yeah I might have some questions when it gets here

Had iPhones since 2008 so I'm used to iOS.

Also the 4G Nexus 7 should be out soon for those of you interested ;)

Sure thing - although I think you'll get used to it sooner than you think.

I love it when iPhoney users try Android and realise that they have been living a lie since Apple got their claws into them.

Might be worth pointing out your lack of distinction between phone/OS on the Apple side of things  just to clarify where you're coming from here, I'm pretty sure there are some jobby phones running Android whereas you cannot deny that the iPhone w/ iOS is good at what it does, whether it stacks up against any given device w/ Android is a whole other argument and I'm sure I could cherry pick a list of devices w/ Android that are poor. ;) I have known for a long time Android would be the way to go, it's only the last 18m-2y that (in my opinion) they have become a serious competitor with a certain few devices. Plus being a poverty spec phone user, aka PAYG, you don't get upgrades and the cost of a new smartphone isn't exactly low these days. Bided my time with a clapped out iPhone 4... waiting for this very day  Either way I'm not a psephologist here to argue about that, especially since this will then turn into a thread full of "no u r" and "ur mum is".

So while we're at it, anyone got any suggestions from the Play store?

Anything worth doing that I should know about?

The mother in-law is looking into tablets too. I hear the google nexus is a superb bit of kit and highly recommended. It also seems the older nexus 7 is higher ranked than the version 2

Great value for money
