Merlin, iPhone5 and just to record the drive out at LLL's national meet.

Ammo, there's no point in buying new camera as I've got a DSLR so just looking for a mount and what other people have.

Could you mount a tripod on the back seat and secure it

I wedged a tripod in the sex blocker in my old 4g and that didn't move despite going off road

Yeah that's a good point, I think gopro's have good sound quality too. iPhones are terrible for noise and would probably wobble about in a holder. If you dont want to spend any money I'm sure Ammo's idea of a few straps could hold a tri-pod pretty well if you did it right. I'm sure if you brought some with you we could all work something out together.

I mounted my last iphone to my driver side door/window so I could see the speedo and road...I just used a normal mount from Halfords....the only real problem I had was when they auto focus. They can sometimes ruin the video. Just a heads up.

Nitin - When I first started going on track I did like what Ammo suggested, use a tripod. You can set it at half high and put two of the legs flat against the rear seat back, then extend the front leg so it supports it. After that you can flop the rear seat down a bit and wrap duct tape around the whole seat. It worked for me, just a pain to put in and take out ;)

@VT3C RUNN3R Download Optrix VideoSport app (Free), it has a focus lock on it ;)

Remember most tracks will not allow suction mounts on the inside of the car anymore... :(
