Hahaha poke a stick at me all you want, I don't mind, I have no love for Ford's.
Speed isn't everything.. one or two models may be faster but (in my opinion) they are dreadful cars, I used one for a week a short while ago and couldn't find anything good about it - the build quality was poor, the interior was horrible/loose/wobbly/nasty, the exterior was horrible, I didn't like the driving position.. I didn't like anything about it. So definitely one for me to pick at! The Prelude is a better car all round. I doubt you'll get a 20yr old Focus going straight through an MOT ..if they even last 20yrs.

I think it's telling that the interesting Fords, which have the 5 pot, borrowed that engine from Volvo.

There's a few pokes for all of you! If that's your thing?

I thought you actually had one Marc - my bad! I know they aren't that bad, and the engine has some great potential, just not for a lot of us! Hell, a load of the other engines Ford use, including the up and coming Eco Boost engines for the new ST's (Focus & Fiesta) are based on the Mazdas MZR engines that I have in my Mazda 6. Probably a good thing they use all these other engines.

talking of new ford engines i've just booked myself on a timing belt course with gates based around fords new engines. timing belt is at the back of the engine and runs in oil. seems odd having a belt running in oil
