Hahaha poke a stick at me all you want, I don't mind, I have no love for Ford's.

Speed isn't everything.. one or two models may be faster but (in my opinion) they are dreadful cars, I used one for a week a short while ago and couldn't find anything good about it - the build quality was poor, the interior was horrible/loose/wobbly/nasty, the exterior was horrible, I didn't like the driving position.. I didn't like anything about it. So definitely one for me to pick at! The Prelude is a better car all round. I doubt you'll get a 20yr old Focus going straight through an MOT ..if they even last 20yrs.

Poke was for Dino again. Ripping into the Fords is fine with me, I hate them too. Just that Marc owned an ST like that one once upon a time.

I've owned a couple of Fords in my time and agree with your statement. I know what I'd rather have too, and there's a hell of a long list in front of Fords!

I think it's telling that the interesting Fords, which have the 5 pot, borrowed that engine from Volvo.

I thought I was in some reverse-world where I was being mocked on a Prelude forum for not liking Ford's!

Never bought an ST in the end Rob, but my mates on his 2nd.
Awesome motor, great chassis, handle great andthe noise is sweet. Especially as its running 300ponies and 350lbft.
In all honesty if it was a ford engine, i probably wouldnt want one.

Oh yeah Rob.... Poke away. :hurr:

There's a few pokes for all of you! If that's your thing?

I thought you actually had one Marc - my bad! I know they aren't that bad, and the engine has some great potential, just not for a lot of us! Hell, a load of the other engines Ford use, including the up and coming Eco Boost engines for the new ST's (Focus & Fiesta) are based on the Mazdas MZR engines that I have in my Mazda 6. Probably a good thing they use all these other engines.

talking of new ford engines i've just booked myself on a timing belt course with gates based around fords new engines. timing belt is at the back of the engine and runs in oil. seems odd having a belt running in oil :?
