A good cheap GoPro alternative

I am thinking about getting these. Merlin is it really good.?

I have only had my one out in the car once so far and the quality was decent. I will be using it properly this weekend in the final round of Super Lap Scotland so look out for my vid(s) next week.

I have been thinking on getting a harness for my dog so I can attach this camera to it

And someone mentioned that the sound is not great with the case on?? I want to use it underwater when I go on holiday next year. Is it that bad with the case?

If you are using it underwater I wouldn't be worried about the sound. The sound is decent outside of the case.

Can you add stuff on to it such as microphones ?

I know the mounts are the same as the GOPro ones.

Merlin. Was able to see the videos on the computer. Its seems to have filmed it on like 3 minet blockes . Then you have to gotto the next vvidios and it carrys on were it left off. Does yours do this.

It sounds like you have cyclic recording switched on. My one does that as well, I will be switching it off. Have a read of this http://actioncamfaq.com/2014/01/11/sj40 ... u-options/

If you turn off cyclic recording the camera will keep recording until the file size hits 4GB, then it will keep recording but start a new file.

No you cant add a mic but the sound without the case is decent.

I have seen these on ebay and was wondering about quality, and this is very goods for the price, much better than the one i got at a similar price which i use on the blade occassionaly and all you can hear is wind noise from the onboard mic,

This is much better, right off to visit ebay.....

Bump this up.

Whats peoples thoughts on the entry level Gopro Hero at £90. Im loving the look of the Poleroid Cube HD. Just a shame it wont do 60fps but so far im heading towards the Cube.

The basic Hero is great value for money, but the pennies soon rack up if you buy a range of mounts.

We bought one for our son for Christmas. His helmet-mounted go-karting footage is crisp and smooth.
A nice piece of kit.
