I presume these trackers can be switched on and off at will without too much hassle, so you would be able to turn it off if you're in it and going somewhere?

The ones on ebay are only activated by sending a text or ringing it then it sends a text back to owner with details of where car is an you can check on google maps

Well rung dvla today an after a few hundred options got thru to someone an explained so they have put car back in my name but of course would not tell me who done it but got to send all the prove i have of other things that have been happening like using my address for there cars and speeding fines they have been getting and there look into it.
Seems a waste of time reporting anything these days as no one is intrested

@merc: you place 4 brass studs under them. as long as two or more are touched they get a wake up. you dont want the handle live, just the underside where stickybeak fingers might get to...it has been done.
