You should keep windows and only windows on the 60gb partition and install everything else on the bigger one. Keeping windows on a clean disc helps it to run smooth as it doesn't get bogged down as all the installed data get defragmented on the disc. Get as much as you can on the bigger partition, you can't move software with reinstalling it, then run a disc de frag and you should be fine

Your computer runs much quicker if windows has space on it's partition to do it's thing

As Alex said, just have windows on the smaller partition and install everything else on the larger one, bingo bango job done pc will last forever

On new laptops, the C drive is usually a small partition to take the OS and the D drive is the larger one. Nothing has been installed in the wrong section. Win 7 / Vista does usually have a smaller (hidden) recovery partition on the C drive but it's not viewable as far as I can remember, but it's nowhere near 60GB in size.

Just transfer all your documents to the D drive, simples

In the future, any programs you install, direct them to the D drive instead of C.
