I'm fairly new to the Prelude scene, although have spend many hours looking at them for sale on various car websites. ;) While I don't have the knowledge that most of you guys have here, 2K or even £3K sounds like very little money for a mint, low mileage prelude.

Compare the Prelude to a Ford Fiesta or Vauxhall Astra - infact you dont get alot for £3K (out of the Ford/Vauxhall) - but ARE getting ALOT of car out of the Honda - even more so if its Montegi specc'ed (plus probably alot more reliable too!).

I'm looking to spend upto £3.5K for a 5th Gen (call me crazy). Looking for the right car to come along... :)

It Motegi ;)

That sort of money will get you a superb Prelude, you want to be aiming for a Type S Prelude for that as its the holy grail of Preludes (most power plus ATTS 8-) )

its motegi, named after the japanese race track it was tested on

and yes when the lude came out it was £30,000 car with the engineering to boot

is it the 2.0i your looking for or the 2.2 vtec?

I didnt say "Montego" ;) . Plus it was a typo.
Ideally the 2.2 . As said above, top of the range. Can hold out for the right car.

Thanks but no thanks. Am looking for LOW mileage to start. 50K max (as opposed to 150K+)...
NICE car! I do like alot that you have done with yours - infact my "shopping list" will be quite similar. ;)

Sub 50K cars are pretty rare and unlikely to be on your doorstep so you'd have to be prepared to travel ;).

You'd be hard pushed to find a sub 50k mileage car, nothing wrong with 'higher' mileage examples as they're built well. As long as they've been regularly serviced, you have to remember that 5th gens are up to 16 years old and many are daily drivers.

Mines on 116k and is 15 years old, so thats 7700 miles a year. Its been serviced every year and had belts done, its never broken down or failed once.

Yes, I'd be very fortunate to locate one just down the road.
Past cars I have owned, I've travelled across the country to view / collect. All part of the fun of choosing a new ride.

I'm sure theres a stunner sat dorment in some garage, used occasionally, that some loyal owner will one day part with. :)
