I had a Volvo 480ES. Kind of a metallic charcoal. Great car. They used to build them in the old DAF factory didn't they? Designed in the NL too.

A bit under-rated I think. Not that powerful or that fast, but very light and handled pretty well. Good looking in an off-beat kind of way. And yeah, I too love pop ups :D

100% correct!! :D
You only forgot to mention that they where extremely luxurious for its time. Mine was ES too and it's the only car I had and wish I still had it. Ill get a 1.5 turbo when I've got the (financial) room for a second car and keep it as my "classic" 8-)
The car is almost completely forgotten in the NL, they where surprised I showed up in one at the Volvo specialist
Good little community with the owners :!:

*edit
turbo is a 1.7

They were luxurious weren't they? Heated seats and that trip/economy computer thing in the '80's.

I'd love another one too. Ideally the turbo...

....and if I had a bit more money I'd also get a P1800S and defile it by putting the running gear from a T5 in it :D
