I had a real soft spot for the S2k until Nitin posted a video called something like, "10 fundamental flaws of the S2000.." it was all stupid stuff like placement of switches etc, but it started to put me off.

It's a funny one.
I know the S is a great car, it's just not great for me. Or perhaps, not great enough for me to want one over and above a well sorted lude. The impracticalities and things I don't get on with far outweigh it's plus, which is basically RWD, which most will have trouble really exploiting to it's full potential on a day to day basis anyway.
Yes, I have spent a good few quid on my car, but still less than a decent condition used S2k would have cost me and I have a quick car with no issues whatsoever now. I know that approach is not for everyone and let's be honest, sometimes a 'new' car does have some appeal, but I can honestly say I have never regretted my decision. :)
All totally IMHO of course :)

Sound advice from @bennyboy. I was ready to drop more than a few k on one until I had a go. Great cars no doubt, but I couldn't justify it. Perhaps if I didn't have possession of the lude then it would've been a goer, but the two side by side...

That said, if I was to get rid of the Lude, the S2000 would be the only replacement.

Herein lies the 'problem' with selling a lude. WTF do you replace it with?
Most cars seem bloody boring/soulless/vague compared to it, and even Honda don't make a replacement. The S is a near as you'll get, but really a very different car.
When I was at my crossover point  , I decided I'd have to spend at least 10-15k on a 911 to get the same element of practicality and yet feel like I'd taken a step 'up'. Which I didn't. Because Porkers are for nobbers.... ;)

Personally the E36 328i has been a great replacement for the lude.

RWD, Solid construction, loadsa torque, solid chassis, goes round corners, goes in a straight line.

Feels like the germans made a lude basically. Maybe a bit more cougar than MILF in the driving but still soggy pants fun to mash the foot down.

Obviously not in the same field so far as looks or rarity goes but a bloody good match for performance and driving style.

JAPSHOW will tell which is better at 1/4 mile though. I am really looking forward to finding out which has the legs for a drag race as i really do think they are everso close together.

Obviously not going to be on gayno's list as he's too racist but to anyone thinking of a change its the only car i found that felt the same for usability, fun and daily use. Nothing else comes close to either in that age bracket (or many others imho)
6th gen Prelude please Mr Honda. RWD 2.4 turbo lude.

Go and get a Soarer like me.Makes for interesting driving in comfort and as for rust? Nah the whole thing is galvanised. lots of drifting and dounuts. Lot of car for peanuts. Don't fancy a 4.0ltr don't forget the TT it can be a beast
I have kleptomania,
But when it gets bad,
I take something for it.

Quality of steel in the 80s was far better than the 90s. Thats why 3rd Gens are lasting longer than 4th Gens rust wise.

Only cars i will stary away from my Type S are the 99spec 300zx, A mint red 3rd Gen Prelude or a Toyota GT86 on finance with a supercharger.

My issue is the car isn't worth much more than that in itself, so surely there becomes a point where it's no longer viable?
