theres a lot to like about 3rd,4th and 5th gens but for the driver the interior and feel of the 4th gen is hard to beat imo

The BB4 4th gen is the only 4th gen I would want (and do own). 5th gen wise the Type-S doesn't float my boat due to fruity suspension bits and ATTS etc.. so the S-SPEC and UK 99+ H22a8 are my favorites.
Its is my opinion that on the road and for daily use the 5th gen is a better car, however for track the BB4 is the best as it does not have all the guff from the factory, its OBDI, and aftermarket performance parts are generally easier to get hold of.
Yes the 4th gen has better face but the 5th gen has the better ass. Missionary Vs doggy

4th gen has this squat like broken suspension look which I really like and imho the best interior I have ever seen. The reason I say that is because it wasn't a mass manufactured interior like you get with say Audis. It was specific to the 4g lude only.
Even though my 4g lude was an auto, when belting it around corners, it cornered flat, where as my a8 is more like a boat.
@merlin - why do you say the 5g is a better daily car than the 4g? 5g should have stayed obd1.

The 5G has more interior space, especially in the back seats, folding rear seats and bigger boot.
My a8 has always handled great, like for like it was faster round the track than my BB4 (when it was relatively stock). The 5th gen has a wider front track for increased grip. Comparing the a8 to a 4G is a little unfair though as it has a better gearbox and engine (more torque low down).
