This might be a stupid question but is there a different plug for scanning the ecu to the abs one? I’m only getting abs codes through but maybe I just don’t have any cel codes.
If there is another plug does anyone have a picture of the location? I’ve been looking around the pedals everywhere and can’t find a blue 2 pin plug anywhere. All the others pictures/videos I’ve seen of it are on left hand drive preludes which seem to have different plugs down there all together. Thanks again
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

From the ECU Wiki.......
Get a paperclip and bend it into a U shape.
Make sure the engine’s off and look behind the centre console near the clutch pedal for the service connector; it’s a little (normally) blue connector with 2 wires attached.
Insert the paperclip into the connector to short the 2 wires.
Now turn on the ignition but don’t start the engine, so the dash warning lights light up.
If the CEL light on the dash stays on permanently there are no CEL problems.
If it starts to flash you’ll need to make a note of how many flashes there are.
The CEL light will flash in a loop if there is more than 1 problem

right guys. its fixed.
it turned out to be my ignition control module. i managed to find a thread way way back on a 4th gen on an american forums that had pretty much the same problem as me. then i looked deeper into the ignition system and found that it was the only thing i hadn't replaced already. its been a good 2 1/2 months of my lude intermittently dying on me but it is all sorted now. it only cost me £30 as well. shame i spent out an all the other parts i didn't need. ignition switch, ignition coil, rotar arm, leads and plugs.
I even spent £63 for honda to tell me they had no idea what the problem is and maybe i should try changing the whole distributor. at least I've got blue leads now haha

apparently not for my one, i asked Honda about the ignition switch and they said it hadn't been recalled at all for anything. however i got a thermal paste sachet with my new module and they wasn't any paste on the old one. maybe i don't need the paste at all or possible it might of been replaced before without the paste, causing it to fail. who know lol
