Never been able to get along with media portal because of the bugs, complex install and designed by committee feel. Looks sweet though.

It's not the easiest to setup I'll admit, MP2 is way easier, auto scans your drives and downloads album art etc just won't play 90% of my files lol while MP 1.0.14 does

Plus MP has TV tuner support out of the box (again a ball ache to setup though)

Have you tried windows media centre, amazingly easy install, looks great, never crashes and plays everything I throw at it.

I used to be WinMCE, purely for the out of the box setup and TV tuner support.

However I got a Freeview HD recorder box so no longer required the tuner support, moved to XBMC and now I won't look back.

Yes I have tried MCE, it's a bit well, Microsoft

Hence not using it
