My first Katana fail, i sliced through my first and only pair of Armani Jeans. I also managed to cut through my thigh as well. :(

Ah, I assumed you wanted complete tatami to stand on. The first ones are not really suitable either. You'll want to be looking for tatami-omote. (Omote is the outer part of the complete mat, the bit you want to be cutting up.)

I love how sensible it is that katana are drawn cutting edge up.
