Cheapest insurers last year wanted ~1800 quid FC, felt that was a bit steep but considering I was paying not much less for a 1.8 406 shitbox on 3PFT I paid it anyway... renewal time came around and the same company wanted 2500  Then Admiral gave me a low low quote of 770. Heard bad things about them but the next cheapest was actually Sky at 950-1000ish. When we're talking about the difference of 200odd quid and you're skint... well what can you do

Next year though my license will be points free and my accident will be outside the 5 year time frame they like to know about, so hopefully it'll be even cheaper ;)

£343. Two drivers. Old enough for the best quote on a Nissan GT-R to be a smidgin over £500.
Smug or what?

(Not that I could afford it ... but I had to find out, surely?)

had a read thought id check out my renewal

currently with sheilas wheels...

34 9yrs ncb no convictions accident history etc with my mrs on as named driver

currently £292 fully comp

sounds great yeah...

then i called to change my address (bearing in mind my policy ends aug 28th)

woman on other end gasped, checked through all my details again then asked me to sit down

policy was £292.....now £5500!!!!! i asked to speak to her manager and she could only suggest my new house was in a high risk area...to which i replied that i lived two roads down a year and a half ago and paid around £300 with the same postcode bar one letter!! if i was to cchange my policy id be looking at £1200 extra for the remainder of my policy...at which point the kind insurer said...'GIVE US A CALL BACK WHEN YOU MOVE MR CLARK'....which in my eyes says you aint spoke to us wait till you renew.

so i set about looking for new quotes...got it down to about £450....expected it to go up a bit as ive been lucky and its only gone down the last few years.
I wouldnt mind if i lived in afgan or beruit....

Sorry man, just spotted this. You should be able to post in the main insurers forum and ask questions etc (The specific areas for Sky/Greenlight are for them only). If you'd rather keep it between you and one of the insurers, just PM them. HTH!
