Getting more and more problems with my current PC (now won't even load the BIOS)
It was a Intel i3 550 3.2ghz @ 4.2ghz. 4gb ram with a nvidia 460gts
Looking to get mobo/processor/ram then update the gfx later. Budget sub £400
I'm really out of date with current tech so anyone in the know?

To be fair, if you searched online for all those parts youll get them cheaper. But, that combination we sell a fair bit and its very very good. (i build gaming PC's daily)

Cheers I always used to be an Amd fan boy, till many years ago they went off the boil and they also ran hot so not good for a silent/quiet PC. Are they any better now?
Forgot to say it needs to be quiet/silent at idle. Current PC is actually pretty good at that, ramps up the fans during gaming but then mostly have headphones on then anyway. Think it has an artic cooler heatsink on it

if you want a quiet one, go intel. stock fans on them are amazing unless youy plan on overclocking then you need watercooling really.

My current PC is overclocked but I bought the bundle from OCUK, must be 3 or more years ago now, was about £300 and it's not done badly, plays most games at 1080p but it's starting to struggle with newer games (And generally body lemonade me off by not booting or not seeing HDD's)
Typing on it now as I've left it off for half an hour and the bios has reset itself to failsafe settings
