Exhibit at NEC Classic Car Show 2014?

Ok, this is a bit leftfield compared to the kind of events LG normally attend, but here goes anyway...

I was a bit miffed by the lack of jdm jobby at the classic car show. There was a good collection of British stuff, loads of Yank stuff and a fair amount of Italian and French, but sod all :jdm: (as my pics showed)

So how's about us exhibiting there? We've got no end of decent suff to choose from and put together a good stand and upping the profile of our sexy ludes?

Thoughts maybe showing, full range of oem versions;
  • @jjmartin349571 oem 2g
    An oem 3g
    An oem 4g (I'd be happy to volunteer mine if people were happy with it - and we kept the bonnet closed :lol:)
    An oem 5g (pref a Type-S to show the ultimate oem lude, unless we get a Type-S in the next list down?)
    (could we track down a 1g to exhibit?)
And some properly tuned versions;
  • @Rattymcclelland's Supercharged Type-S :scaredtoss: ?
    A built n/a 4th gen?
    @crunchyadams82 H22 3g?
    @rob_cool1 customised 2g?
Perhaps even have a proper original lude show car e.g.
  • fbs2s 4G?
And could expand the old skool Honda love with;
  • jj's Accord
    One of the 'Decks?
It's 14-16th November next year and they're accepting applications from car clubs now, if we fancied it??? @Gayno

EDIT: Those are just starter ideas for exhibiting cars btw, I'm not suggesting there might not be others worthy of/better than the ones I've mentioned above, just first that came to mind so no-one take offence, ok?! :hug: :lol:

Yes, that sounds good to me Iain. :)

My Lude should be jobby-hot by then. As long as you don't think it would 'taint' their show, having some rude boy motors there? Is that suitable in this particular venue would you say? :think:

Also, love the list of cars you've provided as potential representatives, but I think it would be worth seeing how many places we might be allowed at the show; then giving everyone the opportunity to volunteer their motors, if they believe they're up to standard. I'm sure that's what you had in mind anyway. ;)

But yeah, great idea. Let's put the Prelude on the classic car map & open a few eyes. 8-)

Edit: After re-reading your post properly, turns out I just re-wrote what you said but in different words. :roll:

But I can't be arsed to re-write it now. :lol:

8-) Sounds good..

My car should be full re-sprayed (going to paint the bonnet, have the original wheels put on, this will make it look OEM) 8-)

Yeah count me in 8-) It should be ok by then :lol:
I should have rust sorted and have the bottom re wrapped by then for sure, and all the mechanical/electrical issues fixed!

Will you still have it in 11 months Nitinsky? It was only a month ago that you were talking about selling it. :poke:

I hope you have still got it, as it's a beautiful example & a worthy OEM flagship model. ;)

Make us proud.. 8-)

I know exactly what you mean and that's why I do think it's important that we have some oem ludes there, but yes, they do accept interestingly modified classics, there were plenty of them there - e.g. the metro stand only had 2 original metros but had 4 modified ones and they don't come much more modified than sticking a jet turbine in an MGF! :lol:

It is also part of the 4th gen's story in particular, that it's always been a heavily modified show car since day 1!

Re: number of cars/space, yes that would of course be the ultimate limiting factor. I don't know how they work that, but we can only ask to find out...

As the official event organiser extraordinaire, I'd be interested in Gayno's thoughts on this and certainly not looking to tread on any toes, but would be happy to assist in taking this one forward if he's in favour.

Do the cars have to be concourse condition?

I'll gladly bring mine up if wanted :)
