So, im new here, be gentle and dont take the body lemonade to much to start with!

I live in medway in kent, was just wondering if there are many near me that have done a cambelt on a 4th gen and fancy helping for beer?
Or the name of any trusted garages near me that you have good experiences with and any to avoid?
I dont mind paying but im more than able to do it myself just be easier with another pair of hands that has done it before.
Thanks guys

Hi mate,

I'm based in Bexleyheath. Can't say I've done a cambelt on a Prelude, done ones on a couple of Acura RSXs, so not too dissimilar.

The place I'd recommend, is Incarsolutions in Crayford (01322 274 462), a garage owned by some mates of mine. They do anything and everything on cars, and they can do a cambelt on the lude no worries.

it's not too difficult to do it yourself, youtube has a good amount including this one

1-5 seems relevant, some of the other 6-12 you can skip depending if you want to do cam seal, water pump replacement as well.

A definite way of checking if it's a JDM or UKDM chassis is the VIN on the plate and stamped on the bulkhead behind/above the engine.

JDM VIN's are short/simple, something like BB1-xxxxxxx (7 numeric digits after the chassis code)
UKDM VIN's are long/more complex, something like JHMBB1xxxxxxxxxxx ("JHM", then chassis code, then 11 alpha-numeric digits after the chassis code).

EDIT:
Supposedly you can get your Honda VIN translated here. Not tried it myself but knock yourselves out :D
EDIT 2:
Just tried it with a random VIN off the net. Works on full length (17 character) VINS but not the short JDM VINS.
This is what it showed for the VIN I found on the net:

Quite probably was pre-registered by the dealership. It's the same thing I have with my Yamaha Diversion. Registered in '94 but they were made from '95. Was pre-registered by the dealership for whatever reason. I've had that a few times on other vehicles too.
