Ok, it's difficult to know the circumstances and therefore draw fair conclusions, but...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-26237793

in footage like this, why have so many cars been left at home to be consumed by the flood waters?
If anything is easy to take from your property, surely it's the cars? And it's not as if this flooding suddenly came bursting in in just a few minutes, completely unexpected?
I'd like to think that SORN/MOT or not, if the car ran, then in similar circumstances I'd just move the damn thing?

I bought a MK4 Supra from a dealer that just had slight damage to the wing.(apparantly that is why he said it was a cat c )On contacting the previous owner it had been flooded for 2 weeks. I got my money back after various threats of the law or his body in bin bags. That was 12 years ago, I would be very careful about buying anything at the moment without peering up its arse.

i guess the owners can claim on their insurance - no doubt some of these will resurface for sale at some point on the future with no note of the fact thats its been underwater
ive seen a few cars sold recently that definately looked that way

Normally flooding is classed is Cat A or B write offs, so if claimed on insurance they shouldn't be on the road any more.

flood damage is a nightmare on cars, everything dries out in a week or so and is hunky dory, then the electrical connection corrosion begins, and all the bearings start to get noisy and before you know it its foofed. have had major issues with the escort rally car recently.

Yep - Hence my massive criticism of that knob-end bus driver last week!
