Hello people. My cooling fans aren't working on my 95 bb4 so today I bridged the connector to the fanswitch to see if they came on. The small fan turned on so that means I need a new fanswitch, but I dont understand y the big one didnt come on.
I tried the same thing on my sick, poorly bb4 and both the fans came on......is that wright? Just to be sure I had a go on my mates 5gen and only the big fan turned on. Thats 3 different outcomes to the same test people. Which is correct? Lol. Wtf!
Also can anyone tell me why ther are 2 fans and what ther separate jobs are......random I know but I am interested in why u wound need to different sizes? Lol.
Cheers.

Ok. That means my aircon fan is working and my rad fan isnt. Im going to just switch the rads from one car to other car with the fans on them. Long but its the only way I believe.

So it makes me come to the conclusion that my aircon fan doesnt work. But my aircon is still working

I had something similar happen on my 5th gen 2.0 and it was thermostat, quick and easy to fix, I did it myself and Im terrible at mechanical stuff, you might want to see if its the thermostat before you go pulling radiators out of cars

I cant see it being the thermostat as it didnt have one when I bought it lol. So wierod....... I fitted a new one a couple of mounths ago. Gauge reads correct temp. Did your temp gauge work correctly. I.e get up to temp?
Thanks for your help in advance.

The air con condensor fan is only needed to keep the air con properly cold if you're sat in traffic (it keeps air moving over the condensor to dump the heat that it's taken out of the cabin).
If the car is moving, or you're sat in traffic but the external air temp isn't that hot, your air-con will work perfectly normally - the air con condensor fan isn't needed.
